Jonathan Russell Eastman passed away November 17th 2021 with his loving family by his side after a hard-fought ten month battle with cancer. Jonathan was born in Amsterdam, NY to Margaret and H. Russell Eastman on Sept. 15th 1954. He attended Oneida High School, graduating with the class of 1972, and went on to SUNY Canton then ultimately R.I.T. where he graduated with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. He started his career with Stetson-Dale in Utica and since 2003 has worked at M/E Engineering where he provided endless advice and mentorship to his fellow coworkers over the years. His capacity to help and guide others spanned across his personal life and his work life. Jonathan was the consummate do-it-yourselfer, relentlessly renovating his own house, his camp, and the houses of his children, all while selflessly lending his skills to anyone else who would benefit from his talents. He is survived by the love of his life, Constance; three sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew (Sara), of Philadelphia, PA, Joshua (Stephanie), of Fayetteville, NY, and Sean (Sulla), of Schenectady, NY; and his four grandchildren Gabriel, Julia, Ruby, and Noah. Also surviving are his mother, Margaret, New Hartford, NY, and his siblings, Jeffrey (Deb), Athens, TN, Jeremy (Ramona), Fayetteville, NY, and Dr. Janice Bach, Oneida, NY. Jonathan was predeceased by his father Russell. Services will by held Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY.
