Stockbridge - Michael G. Jones, age 73, of Barr Road passed away Thursday evening February 20, 2025 in Wynn Hospital. Born on June 27, 1951, in Rome, New York a son of the late Thomas S. and Helen (Connor) Jones. He was a graduate of the Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools class of 1969. After graduation, Mike entered the United States Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War. On September 25, 1981, Mike and Karen M. Gainer were united in marriage in Colorado and shared that loving vow for almost thirteen years until Karen's death on June 22, 1994. Prior to his retirement, Mike was employed with Syracuse Utilities where he held many positions with the company, retiring after 31 years as a supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed a good round of golf, listening to music and spending time with his family. Surviving are his daughter Michele (David) Nelson and grandson Ethan Nelson of Whitesboro. Daughter Kassandra (Tyler) Peters of Oneida. Sister LuAn Judd of Oneida and two brothers; Thomas (Jane) Jones of Redfield and William Jones and Claudia Joly of Balston Lake as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 1 to 4 at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc. 23 Front Street Vernon, NY.
