Sherrill-Alice T. Phillips, formerly of East State Street passed away peacefully early Sunday morning May 4, 2025, in the Katherine Luther Home at the age of 89 where she more recently resided.
She was born on July 16, 1935, in Vernon, New York a daughter of the late Frederick F. and Marian (Bridges) Thurston and was a graduate of the Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools.
On January 20, 1956, Alice and Wesley L. Phillips were united in marriage in Munnsville, New York and the couple shared that loving union of nearly sixty years together until Wesley's death on August 30, 2015.
Alice was an administrative assistant with the Oneida Limited Silversmiths for 45 years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Sherrill, helping out each year with the annual bazaar. Alice enjoyed many years of success in the women's bowling league at the CAC and was a diehard Yankees fan.
Surviving is her one daughter, Darla Oto of Mt. Kisco, NY and grandson Evan Oto of White Plains, NY, along with his wife Meghan and Alice's great-granddaughter, Mara, and several nieces and nephews.
Alice was predeceased by her husband Wesley, sisters Luette Hill and Dianne Johnson, brother Frederick Thurston II and sister Jessie Spaulding.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor James Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Oneida, NY.
