Obituary of Mark M. Hill

Altamont & Rome-Mark M. Hill, formerly of Rome passed away Friday evening June 6, 2025 one day before his fifty-nineth birthday in Albany Medical Center after being stricken ill at home with an ischemic stroke.

  He was born on June 7, 1966 in Rome, New York a son of Robert and Joyce (Spencer) Hill and was a graduate of the Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools and attended Mohawk Valley Community College.

  While attending Vernon Verona Sherrill High School Mark met his high school sweet heart; Suzanne M. Russ. The couple graduated and went their separate ways until they rekindled their relationship and were united in marriage on June 9, 2018 and shared this loving relationship of two days short of seven years.

    Mark was currently employed as a type setter with Viatec Solutions LLC of Albany.

  Surviving is his wife, Suzanne M. Hill of Altamont, his mother Joyce Hill of Clinton, daughters, Heather Hill and Joyce Hill of Rome, Amanda Hill and Ed Scharpou of Caroga Lake, grandsons, Calvin and Miles, his siblings and their spouses, Colleen and Norm Provost of Durhamville, Randy and Vicki Hill of Sherburne and several nieces and nephews.

  Mark was predeceased by his father Robert Hill. 

  Family and friends will be invited to call at the Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
