Obituary of Christian J. Thomson

Oneida-Christian J. Thomson of Indian Town Road passed away early Monday morning June 9, 2025, in SUNY Upstate Hospital at the age of 77.
He was born on February 22, 1948, in Verviers, Belgium a son of the late Henri and Yvonne (Altman) Thomson and received his elementary education in Belgium before migrating with his sister to the United States where he later graduated from the Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools.
On August 11, 1967 Christian entered the United State Air Force serving during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on August 10, 1971.
On October 16, 1982 Christian and Margaret N. Seiselmeyer were united in marriage at St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford and shared this loving vow of over forty-two years together.
Prior to his retirement, Christian was employed as a maintenance worker with H P Hood of Vernon with over thirty-five years of loyal service to the company.
In his spare time, Christian enjoyed watching Yankees baseball and NY Giants football games. He also enjoyed being outside soaking up the sun while mowing his lawn. He was a past member of the Durhamville Mug Club.
He is survived by: his wife, Margaret N. Thomson of Oneida; his children and their spouses, Sandra (Michael) Roberts of Munnsville, Christine (Noel) Strife of Vernon, and Michael (Alexis) Thomson of Jamesville; seven grandchildren, Amber Roberts, Michael Roberts, Stephanie (Michael) Carinci, Natalie Strife, Lillian Strife, Kendrick Thomson, and Kameron Thomson; two great-grandchildren, McKenna and Aubrey Carinci; one sister Marie Claire (Pete) Simchik of Port Orange, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Christian was predeceased by his parents and an infant sister Christiane Thomson.
In keeping with Chris' wishes, there will be no public funeral services. Burial will be in St. Helena's Cemetery, Oneida, NY. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Sherrill and online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
