Obituary of Marguerite K. Bonafice

Marguerite “Peggy” Bonafice, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, of Vernon, passed away on June 29, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Peggy retired from Faxton/St. Luke’s after 35 years as a Cardiac Rehab Nurse.   She had a strong faith and was a long time member of the Vernon United Methodist Church, volunteering in many positions, including Treasurer, and Sunday School Teacher.
  Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Walter R. Bonafice, her parents, Vernet and Anna Keller, and her brother Dr. Robert Keller.   Peggy is survived by her children, Alex and Julie, her sisters Suzanne (James) Moran and Hilda (Michael) McLean, and several nieces and nephews.  Peggy was also survived by her long-time friend, Deborah Bahr and her “Domino Ladies”.
  Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, July 10th between 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a memorial service immediately following at 12:00 pm at the Vernon United Methodist Church. A Private Burial will follow at a later time.
  Peggy’s family give heartfelt thanks to the Caregivers of Abraham House in Rome for the kindness and care they showed to Peggy and her family and friends.
  In lieu flowers, the family requests donations to Abraham House, Vernon Fire Department or Vernon United Methodist Church.
