Obituary of Bruce C. Jenkins

Canastota-Bruce C. Jenkins passed away Friday evening, September 12, 2025 in University Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 82. He was born on January 22, 1943 in Syracuse, New York a son of the late Walter L. and Leona (Campbell) Jenkins and was a graduate of Syracuse's Onondaga Valley Academy. Bruce proudly served with the United States Air Force from 1963-1969. On December 5, 1964 Bruce and Bernice Cosselman were united in marriage in Syracuse's St. James Church and from that marriage the couple created a family of four children. Prior to his retirement Bruce was a welder at New Process Gear. In his spare times he enjoyed golfing, woodworking in his garage and having meals with his family and friends. On August 27, 2010 Bruce and Ruth (Bie) Foster were united inmarriage in St. Mary's Assumption Church of Rome and shared that vow until Ruth's death on September29, 2020. Surviving are daughters, Julie (Tim) Burgess, Janice (Robert) Banack, sons Joseph Jenkins and Jeff Jenkins, three step- sons, Charles J. Foster, Mark (JoAnn) Foster, Matthew (Rachael) Foster, one step-daughter Karen (Jay) Horodnick, one brother Douglas (Margaret) Jenkins of GA., numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
