Obituary of Karin F. Steinberger

Karin F. Steinberger of Vernon passed away peacefully Friday morning November 28, 2025 in Upstate University Hospital after an extended illness at the age of 79. She was born on April 23, 1946 in Dusseldorf, Germany a daughter of the late Wilhelm and Francisca Winters. Karin graduated from high school in Germany and when her family migrated to the United States, she attended and graduated from N. Syracuse High School. On January 1, 1966 Karin and James E. Steinberger were united in marriage in in Pompey, New York and have shared this bond of nearly sixty years together. Prior to her retirement in 2004 Karin was employed as a certified nursing assistant with the Oneida Healthcare Center for many years. She had a deep love for all animals, especially Arabian horse which she owned and bred. Surviving is her husband James E. Steinberger of Vernon and several other relatives.
