Marjorie Goodnow Warner, 83, of 3692 Hogan Road, Vernon Center, NY passed away peacefully in her sleep, November 11, 2023, in the early morning, at her daughter's home, 631 E. Hamilton Avenue, Sherrill, NY. Marjorie had a bad stroke June 5, 2017, and was paralyzed in her left arm and leg making it difficult to administer to her. For the last 2 years Marjorie's daughter, Deborah L. Warner a Registered Nurse, quit her job and took care of her mother 24/7, a very loving, difficult, and sensitive job. Marjorie was born April 27, 1940, in Albion, NY to Evelyn Moody Goodnow, deceased and Albert Goodnow, deceased. She had two older sisters, Deola (Dolly) Marshall, deceased, Helen Goodnow Paquin, deceased. She later moved to Potsdam, NY and attended and graduated High School there and later graduated from SUNY, Canton with a business accounting degree. On July 14, 1962, she married Thomas G. Warner of 4 Mechanic Street, Canton, NY who was then in the United States Air Force and assigned to Dry Hill AFB, Watertown, NY. They resided in Watertown after the wedding and on May 23, 1963, she had a baby girl, Deborah Lynn Warner. Later in the year her husband was reassigned to Evreux, France where they resided until June 1966. On December 4, 1964, she had a son Christopher Jon Warner who lives in Fairview, Tennessee. She has three grandchildren, Joshua Thomas Warner, Vernon, NY, Kirsten Sharpe of Sherrill, NY, and Johnathan C. Tiller of Canastota, NY. She has six great grandchildren, Joshua Thomas Warner Jr. and Ella Jane Warner, Vernon, NY. Bella Warner, Fairview, Tennessee, Silvia Sharpe and Rose Sharpe of Sherrill, NY and Oliver Tiller of Canastota, NY. She was known as the Cookie Jar Lady for she was an avid cookie jar collector as well as porcelain birds and other animals. She had an Arabian Stallion "Taurus" that she broke and trained to ride and drive a buggy. She raised chickens, rabbits and 3 pigs and worked hard her entire life. No man could have a better wife to live with for 61 years. She as a God send to her husband who loved her since the age of 16 and they were married for over 61 years. May God take care of her now, and her husband will meet her in the Promised Land. She is a Roman Catholic. The Family calling hour is Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 4352 Peterboro Street, Vernon, NY. She will be interned at Fairview Cemetery in Canton, NY after the mass is complete.
