Obituary of Mary R. Phipps

Durhamville- Mary R. Phipps, age 75 of Durhamville passed peacefully Tuesday evening, February 13, 2024 in the comfort of her home with her family at her side. She was born on April 7, 1948 in Rome, New York a daughter of the late Ralph C. and Mildred (Ryon) Rowland and was a 1967 graduate of Vernon Verona Sherrill High School. Mary then went on to work as an accounting clerk with H P Hood of Vernon retiring April 9, 2014. She was a very active member of the Verona Presbyterian Church where she served as a bookkeeper, deacon, elder and treasurer of the church. In her spare times she enjoyed crocheting, volunteering at the Oneida Hospital and lunches with her friends. She most enjoyed the times she spent with her grandchildren. Surviving are her two sons, Daniel J. (Rebecca) Stoker of Ft. Wayne, IN and Dean T. (Christy) Stoker of Oneida Castle, step children, Amy L. (Andy) Dickason of Rochester and Ross R. (Victoria) Phipps of Rochester, ten grandchildren, Zac, Skylar, Raina, Nash, Trenton, Haleigh, Charlie, Behr, Ryon and Dylan; and one sister Barbara (Rich) Hanson of Verona and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by a sister Patricia Stannard. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. the Verona Presbyterian Church, E.
