Knoxboro-Joan M. Baker, age 70 of Knoxboro Road passed away Sunday afternoon, December 22, 2024 in Wynn Hospital with her loving family at her side.
She was born on June 9, 1954 in Oneida, New York the daughter of the late Donald and Geraldine (Ward) Eddy and attended Stockbridge Valley Central School.
On August 7, 1971 Joan and Christopher M. Baker Sr. were united in marriage in Oneida, New York by the Oneida Justice of the Peace Abe Williams and have shared this loving union of over fifty-three years together.
Joan had several jobs in her life with Burton Livestock, National Bank of Vernon and was a customer service representative with TDS Telecom.
In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, gardening and girls' day out for lunch and playing cards; but the times spent with her family were the joyous times of her life.
Surviving is her husband, Christopher M. Baker Sr. of Knoxboro, three children and their spouses, Chris Jr. and Kimberly Baker of Oneida, LeAnn and John Bartolotti of Forestport, Keith Baker of Oneida and two grandchildren, Jessica Baker and Christopher (Megan) Baker III and three great-grandchildren, Savannah, Christopher IV and Robert. Also surviving are her siblings and their spouses, Gerald "Butch" (Joann) Eddy, Doug (Joan) Eddy, Beulah Cast, Terry (John) McInerney, Russ (Barb Gardner) Eddy, many nieces and nephews, and entire Baker in-law family.
Joan was predeceased by her parents and sister Donna Eddy.
In keeping with the family's wishes there will no services at this time. A celebration of Joan's life will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
