Born on March 27, 1935 in Cortland, NY the son of the late Homer and Dora (Hill) Knight. He grew up in DeRuyter, NY and was one of 3 children attending RIT and Morrisville College before taking a job at General Electric in Utica, where he retired in 1990 after 30 years of dedicated service.
On March 8, 1958, Carl married his childhood sweetheart Elba Lidell in the Unadilla Presbyterian Church and shared this loving vow for over sixty-four years before her passing in May of 2022.

He was a talented musician playing accordion and keyboard for many country western bands and was inducted into the NY State Country Music Hall of Fame in 1990. Most of all he was a dedicated husband, never leaving our mother's side when she needed him most. He was a generous father, grandfather and great grandfather blessing us with a family camp where he taught three generations and family friends how to water ski and sail.
