Gerald D. Twiss Vernon Center-Gerald D. Twiss, age 74, a former Vernon Center resident passed away peacefully Sunday morning December 6, 2015 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. He was born on February 6, 1941 in Camden, New York a son of the late Frank F. and Genevieve (Stanford) Twiss. Gerald spent many years working at the Alternative Industries of ARC and resided in several of their IRA's. He was a member of the Vernon Road and Gun Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed riding snowmobiles. His biggest enjoyments came from being around people and a good conversation. Surviving are two sisters Evelyn Allen of Houston TX, Cecelia Mulberry of GA, one sister-in-law Joy Twiss of Vernon Center, several aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Gerald was predeceased by two brothers, Weldon and Earl Twiss, two, sisters, Patricia Gualtier and Gladys Timmerman. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. immediately following calling hours at the funeral Home. Burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery, Vernon Center, NY.
