Elmer S. Chandler Marcy-Elmer S. Chandler, age 75, a longtime Rome resident and more recently of Cavanaugh Rd., Marcy passed away peacefully Monday January 11, 2016 in the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare with his loving family at his side. He was born on May 1, 1940 in Millerstown, PA a son of the late Ivan C. and Helen M. (Lawton) Chandler and attended Rome Schools. Prior to his retirement Elmer was employed for over twenty-five years with HP Hood of Vernon and was a machine operator with the Oneida Limited Silversmiths. Elmer's hobbies included woodworking and doing crosswords, He also loved having cookouts. Surviving are his six children, Teresa (Lewis) Joslyn Jr. of Oneida, Jeffrey (Tami) Chandler of Hampton, Virginia, Shari Welch and her companion (Daniel Spellicy) of Camden, NY, Michael Chandler of Lincolnton, NC, Vanessa (Alan) Theobald of Stanley, NC, Kelly (Jeremy) Singer of Marcy, NY, eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He especially loved his dog Bella. Elmer was predeceased by a son Stanley Chandler. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon with Elmer's sister-in-law Pastor Mary Raymond officiating.
