Obituary of James R. Secrist

James R. Secrist Clinton-James R. Secrist, age 73, a former Vernon Downs horse caretaker passed away early Monday January 11, 2016 in the Lutheran Care of Clinton where he had resided since 2006. He was born on October 15, 1942 in Muncie, Indiana a son of the late Walter C. and Ester Marie (Dunlop) Secrist and attended Muncie Schools. Prior to his career of grooming standard bred horses Jimmy was employed as a machine operator at the Sam Pugh Potato Factory in Muncie ,Indiana. Jimmy's biggest joys in life came from taking care of standard bred race horses and "chit-chatting" with his friends Jim is survived by his sister Margaret Beall of Muncie and a nephew Walter Beall also of Muncie. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Luther Care Chapel, 110 Utica Road, Clinton, with Rev. Janet Griffith officiating.
