Obituary of Alice R. Fazekas

Alice R. Fazekas Verona-Alice R. Fazekas, age 94, of Spring Road passes away peacefully Thursday morning February 18, 2016 in Upstate University Hospital of Syracuse with her loving family at her side. She was born on August 30, 1921 in Turin, New York a daughter of the late Philo H. and Kate (Kuapp) Capron and was a graduate of Turin High School. Prior to her retirement in 1984 Alice was employed in the gold plating department of Oneida Limited silversmiths. Alice enjoyed golfing in her younger years and enjoyed painting, especially oil painting. She most enjoyed the times she spent around a table with her loving family and a deck of cards. Surviving are her five children and their spouses, Paul (Rose) Fazekas of Verona, Shirley Heilig of Rome, Pat Filey of Canastota, Robert (Linda) Fazekas of Westmoreland and Alan Fazekas of Oneida, nine grandchildren including special granddaughter Raiann, and several great-grandchildren. Alice was predeceased by her brother Eugene Capron and her husband Paul. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Verona Cemetery, Verona, New York.
