Obituary of Roberta W. Baker

Roberta W. Baker Verona-Roberta W. Baker, age 81, of W. Main Street, passed away peacefully Friday evening February 26, 2016 at her home with her loving husband and family at her side. She was born on June 6, 1934 in Buffalo, New York a daughter of the late Robert and Vera (Best) Warren and was a graduate of Oneida High School class of 1952. On October 11, 1952 Roberta and Charles "Pete" Baker exchanged wedding vows in St. Francis Church of Durhamville and the couple has shared a loving life of over sixty three years together. Roberta worked for eight years with the Rome State School as an aide and was a foster Mother for many years. She and her husband "Pete" operated The Windmill Bed and Breakfast at their home in Verona for many years. She was a member of The Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel and its Alter Rosary Society for many years. She most enjoyed her large family and the love she shared with each and every one of them. Surviving are her beloved husband Charles "Pete" Baker of Verona, her children and their spouses, Kris Cook of Verona, Andrew (Traci) Baker of Cincinnatus, Pamela Baker of Canastota, Leslie (Larry) Clayton of Williamsport, PA, Petrina (Jeffrey) Roger of Verona and Jessica West of Verona, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, one brother Jack ( Barbara) Warren of Durhamville as well as many nieces and nephews. Roberta was predeceased by her parents, one daughter Jennifer Weaver, one granddaughter Victoria Weaver, sisters, Virginia Butler, Shirley Coe and Susan Hubbard, brothers, Ronald Warren and Robert Warren Jr. and son-in-law, David Cook. Family and friends are invited to call at the Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon on Tuesday March 1, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Roberta's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, E. Main Street, Verona on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Edmund Castronovo celebrating. Burial will be in Verona Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
