Obituary of Patrick K. O'Brien

Patrick Kelly O'Brien Vernon Center-Patrick Kelly O'Brien, age 22, of College Hill Road passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, August 29, 2014 in the Oneida Healthcare Facility. He was born on September 7, 1991 in Hamilton, New York son of James K. and Ann Marie (Ross) O'Brien and was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School and attended SUNY Brockport and MVCC. Patrick was presently employed as an assistant manager of the SavOn Gas at Route 31 at Verona Beach. He was a member of Holy Family Church of Vernon. In his spare time he enjoyed playing sports and spending time with his family and friends. Patrick is remembered for his contagious smile, his sense of humor, his gentle spirit and being a friend to all. Surviving are his parents, James K. and Ann Marie O'Brien of Vernon Center, his four siblings, Grace, Katie, Matt and Ben O'Brien, his grandfather, Leo O'Brien of Sherrill, many aunts, uncles, cousins and girlfriend Alyssa Cavalier. Patrick was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Katherine "Kitty" O'Brien and his maternal grandparents Benjamin and Virginia Ross, his aunt Eve Ross and cousin Christopher Wickens. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday September 3, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street Vernon. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00am in Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, New York
