So sorry to hear of Carolyn's passing, only two months to the day after talking with her
at our 50th high school reunion. Her sense of humor and quiet vitality were just as I'd
remembered her. She was one of those rare people that could say something funny
but you didn't quite "get it" until some time later when it'd finally register w/ you.
Then people would look at you and wonder what in the heck you were laughing at.
It was great to see her after all that time passed. Condolences to Gary, Richard
and all her friends there, where she'd made her home. Carolyn had a good heart.
She was a good steward to the land, her animals and I'm sure that she took good
care of anyone who needed a hand. Can anyone do more good than that in their
lifetime? ....

Dear Gary and family,
Fred and I wish to express our sincere condolences on the sudden passing of Carolyn. It is such a shock to everyone.
It's natural at these times to wish we had visited more or enjoyed their company again(I really wanted to stop over one day and see her new pond) but I take a little comfort that I just saw her at Nice and Easy. She was making a run for food for Gary and his help that day. When I saw her, she always talked of how hard Gary works, and cared about him greatly. I truly am in awe at how hard she herself worked, and how she always gave 110% to everything she did-never settling for good enough.
We farm girls don't get to enjoy friends that often with all the work at home, but I thought it was great how Carolyn did make time for important events and lived life fully. She spoke often of her friends and extended family, brother, nieces, etc and stayed involved with them, despite the rigorous farm schedule and the distance.
All in all, I consider myself lucky to have known her and I'm going to miss her being right around the "block". Our hearts go out to Gary and Booker too!
Sincerely, Joan and Fred Richards
