Obituary of Audrey A. Moran

AUDREY ANN INGOLD MORAN
Verona-Audrey Ann Ingold Moran, 82, of 7010 Collamer Road, East Syracuse, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center in Syracuse. Born in Pittsburgh PA, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Agnes R. (Shea) Ingold. Audrey was a 55 year resident of Verona.
Audrey graduated from Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing which began a lifelong journey of caring for people. She worked in a variety of nursing positions including doctor's offices, hospitals, nursing homes and private duty. Audrey was a nursing instructor at BOCES in Verona and a charge nurse at Rome Developmental Center. After retiring, Audrey kept busy with Habitat for Humanity, Literacy Volunteers, Our Lady of Good Council Altar Rosary Society, Verona Counsel of Churches, Oneida County Right to Life, Third Order Franciscans, Chair of the Verona Democratic Party, Upstate Citizens for Equality and the Verona Town Planning Board, just to name a few. Her greatest legacy is the work she did for 30 years as Director of "In Mission of the Christ Child," a charity that helped moms and babies with food, clothing and baby items.
She is survived by her son Dennis Moran of Utica; her daughter and son-in-law Laura and Thomas Cavanaugh of Kirkville; a brother, Gerard Ingold of Cheswick PA; 2 sisters, Patricia Ingold of West Sunbury PA and Kathleen Rider of Warren OH; her granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Kate and Annalynne McNally of East Syracuse; her granddaughter and her husband, Siobhan and Bryan Hart of Marcellus; 6 grandsons, James, Luke, Declan, Liam, Colin and Sean all of Kirkville; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Moran; brothers James Ingold and Raymond Ingold; and sister Andree Reiter.
The family would like to thank the staffs of both Sunnyside Adult Home and St. Joseph's Hospital for their incredible, compassionate, loving care of Audrey during her final months.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 4343 Peterboro Street, Vernon, NY. Burial will be in Verona Cemetery, Verona, New York.
