Obituary of Anita L. Miller

Anita L. Miller New Hartford-Anita L. Miller, age 79, of the Preswick Glen Community and former resident of both Waterville and Vernon passed away unexpectedly Saturday December 17, 2016 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with her loving husband and family at her side. She was born in Vernon, New York a daughter of the late Charles and Lois (Wilkinson) Lampman and was a graduate of Vernon High School and Utica School of Commerce On March 1, 1958 Anita and Richard L. Miller were united in marriage in the Vernon United Methodist Church and shared a loving union of over fifty-eight years together. Anita was employed with General Electric in Utica and transferred to Denver where she met Richard. After marriage they relocated to Denver but later returned east to be closer to family. Anita dedicated the next several years to her family as a stay at home mom. She later pursued her interest in floral design and worked for Frog Park Herbs of Waterville. Anita was a master of crafts which included many things such as making her own greeting cards, crewel embroidery and beautiful three-dimensional Papier Tole works of art which were displayed at several locations. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards and board games with friends and family. Surviving are her husband, Richard "Dick" Miller of Preswick Glen, son, David and Kris Miller of Sanford, NC, son, Eric Miller and fiancée Alice Jones of Verona, one daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Scott Cook of Clinton, two beloved grandchildren Taylor and Dustin Miller, several nieces, nephews and many special friends of the Preswick Glen Community and former school mates. Anita was predeceased by her brother, Charles "Bill" Lampman, sister, Marjorie Hunt and daughter-in-law, Sandra Miller. The family would like to thank the staff from Edwards Ambulance, Preswick Glen, as well as St. Elizabeth's ER and ICU staff for their compassionate and loving care they provided to Anita and the family. In keeping with family wishes there will be a private burial in Maple Grove Cemetery at the family's convenience. The family invites friends to attend a celebration of Anita's life at a time to be announced at the Preswick Glen, 55 Preswick Glen Drive off Clinton Rd. (RT 12B) New Hartford, NY, 13413.
