Obituary of Paul Makarchuk

Paul Makarchuk Verona-Paul Makarchuk, age 87, of Moore Road passed away Tuesday evening November 4, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 7, 1927 in Utica, New York a son of the late Peter and Tekla (Hudak) Makarchuk and was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On July 28, 1946 Paul was honorably discharged after serving his country with the U.S. Navy. Paul and Audrey Mae Staple were united in marriage on November 8, 1947 in Rome, New York and the couple has shared a loving union of nearly sixty-seven years together. Prior to his retirement Paul was a self employed truck driver. In his spare time Paul enjoyed farming, fishing, working in his gardens and repairing anything and everything he could in his garage or barn. Surviving are his wife Audrey Makarchuk, six children and their spouses, David (Sally) Makarchuk, Paula (Gregory) Iannello, Tamara (Jeff) Imobersteg, Barbara (Michael) Southcott, Peter (Cindy) Makarchuk and Paul (Joanne) Makarchuk Jr., twenty-one grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Edward and Nicholas and one sister Mary as well as many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents and brothers Harry and Peter. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon with Rev. Cindy Makarchuk officiating.
