Nathan 'Frank' Hartle Sr
Vernon – Nathan 'Frank' Hartle Sr, age 77, of State Route 5 in Vernon, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 10, 1940, in Lowville, NY, he was the son of the late George and Anna Belle (Roberts) Hartle.
On September 13, 1959, Frank was united in marriage to Evana G. Williamson in Vernon, NY, and shared that loving union for over 55 years until Evana's passing in 2015.
Frank worked for the Department of Transportation as a laborer for many years in both Vernon Center and then Rome. Frank's favorite past time, especially in recent years, was mowing his lawn and taking care of his lawn mowers. He enjoyed taking trips up to the auctions at Burton's on a regular basis.
Survivors include, his children, Nathan (Kim) Hartle of Vernon, Jody Hartle of Vernon, Shane Hartle of Vernon, Robin (Jim) Sigsbee of Vernon Center, Nancy Waldron of Verona, Keith Strong of Vernon, Wayne Strong of Vernon, and Brian Strong of Sylvan Beach; his siblings, William Hartle of Virginia, Marianne Larkin of Carthage, and Arthur (Ruby) Hartle of Munnsville; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sons, Mark Hartle, Leon Metz, and Sheldon Strong; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Cabrera and Carter Hartle.
In keeping with Frank's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A burial will take place at a later date at the family's convenience. Arrangements are under the care of Malecki Funeral Home, Inc. in Vernon. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.maleckifuneralhome.com.
