Donald R. "Ike" Eychner
Verona-Donald R. "Ike" Eychner, age 82, of Reber Road went to be with his Lord late Thursday afternoon, November 13, 2014.
He was born on September 19, 1932 in Rome, New York a son of the late Lyle and Luella (Regner) Eychner. Don attended Vernon Schools and V.V.S. Central School.
On July 24, 1954 Don and Carolyn A. Group were united in marriage in Sodus, New York and the couple shared a loving union of over fifty-two years together until Carolyn's death on March 25, 2007.
Ike was a retired dairy farmer who enjoyed wood working, playing harmonica and hunting, especially turkey hunting, but his biggest pleasure came from driving his tractor. He was a member of the Lowell Fire Department.
Surviving are his four daughters, Shawn Charlebois of Sherrill, Pam (Ed) Dence of Oneida, Tari Eychner of Lakeport and Keron Eychner of Verona, two sons Mike Eychner and Kyle Eychner both of Verona, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Shirley Rasha of Rome, Jackie Morat of Fairport, Mildred Desgrossiellier of Lowell and Donna (Dave) Finn of Lowell.
Don was predeceased by twin daughters, Judy Lynn and Jill Ann and his wife Carolyn, one sister Marilyn Secor and two brothers, Lyle Eychner Jr. and Clifford Eychner.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd. Sherrill. New York. Mr. Eychner's funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Sherrill with Rev. Fred Bailey and Rev. Dan King officiating.
