Vernon-Thomas G. Vermeulen, age 83, of Wood Road passed away unexpectedly Monday morning August 13, 2018 at his home.
He was born on November 3, 1934 in Detroit Michigan where Tom spent his childhood and attended and graduated from the Detroit School System.
Tom proudly served his country with the United States Navy from 1951-1955.
On April 6, 1974 Tom and Sandra O. Newman were united in marriage in St. Mary's Church of Clinton and shared this sacred vow of over forty-four years together.
Prior to his retirement in 2000 Tom was employed as a senior tool designer with Northern Industrial Services of Syracuse.
He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of Verona, the William Russell American Legion Post 404 of Vernon. In his younger years he enjoyed sailing, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife Sandy Vermeulen, his children and their spouses Thomas G. Vermeulen Jr. (Heather Sullivan), Eric M. Vermeulen (Tiffany Kavney), Riccee Vermeulen, Rodnee (Lisa) Vermeulen, Randee (Connie) Vermeulen, Ramee (Linda) Vermeulen, and Rennee' (Mike) Dilger, fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 5652 E. Main Street, Verona, New York with Rev.
