Vernon-Virginia P. Cook, age 92, a longtime Vernon resident and former resident of Noyes Manor passed away Sunday afternoon August 26, 2018 in the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility. She was born on May 20, 1926 in the Town of Augusta a daughter of the late Floyd and Pearl (Race) Salm and attended Verona High School. On August 20, 1950 Virginia and Guy Cook were united in marriage in Vernon, New York and shared that loving union of nearly forty-nine years together until Mr. Cook's death on May 7, 1999. Virginia was a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church and the Rebecca's. She was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her two daughters, Jeanne Terrier of Oneida, Gisele Ingram of Munnsville, her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Terrier, Steven Terrier, Kyle Ingram, Renee Havener, Katie Spencer and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by her husband and twin brother Virgil Salm. Calling hours and funeral services will be private and at the family's convenience. Burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery, Vernon Center, New York. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Wanders Rest Humane Association, 7138 Sutherland Drive, PO Box535, Canastota, NY, 13032.
