Verona-Christina passed away peacefully on December 06, 2019, with family, friends, and her Pastor Katie Yahns by her side. Christina was born May 5, 1924 to William and Nellie Tackabury, Sand St Oneida, NY. After graduating from Oneida High School Christina worked at Griffiss Air Force base during WW II and also volunteered with the Red Cross. After the war, she married the love of her life, John Todd of Forestport, NY. They raised their family in Vernon, NY, where she was a member of the Vernon Methodist Church, Eastern Stars, and an employee with Oneida Ltd. Silversmiths.
Later, Christina and John retired to a quiet life in the Verona countryside where she became a member of the St Peters Lutheran Church. Christina loved music and was a member of the local church and area choirs. She was a volunteer for many years at the Oneida Hospital and was very proud of her Irish heritage.
Her last four years were spent in the loving care of the Oneida Extended Care Facility. Their compassion and kindness will never be forgiven. The family would also like to thank Pastor Katie Yahns, of St Peters Lutheran Church for her faith and spiritual guidance through this difficult time, It was her final prayer that guided Christina gently into the arms of God.
Christina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving are her two daughters and two sons-in-law, Joan and Paul Marvin of Hilton, NY, Christine and Greg Barulich of Pine City, NY, and one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Donna Todd of Little Falls, NY, seven grandchildren, Ian Todd, Jill (Michael) Gildea, Diane Spaulding and companion Andrew Dean, Todd (Amber) Marvin, Lynne (Roy) Cleveland, James (Candice) Ariglio and Ian (Lorene) Barulich and seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Gildea, Abigail Cleveland, Alexandra Cleveland, Amelia Cleveland, Elias Cleveland, Isabella Ariglio and Helene' Barulich.
In keeping with Christina's wishes there will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held on a Saturday in the spring or summer at a time to be announced at the St Peters Lutheran Church, 4897 Old Oneida Rd Verona, NY with Rev Katie Yahns officiating. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon NY. The family will receive friends at a luncheon at the church following the services.
