Obituary of Blake A. Lamb Jr.

Oneida-Blake Alan Lamb Jr. 52, of Oneida, NY passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020. He was born on May 15, 1968 to Blake Lamb Sr. and Honey Sexton. He graduated from VVS Central School in 1986. While in high school he was very active in sports. Especially, football where he excelled as a middle linebacker. He was captain of the team in his senior year and was named "Defensive Player of the Year" He worked as a mechanic for Oneida Limited for 14 yrs. After that he started his own construction business – Blake Lamb Home Improvement. He became friends with his many customers over the years and had a great reputation as a quality carpenter. One of his main passions was hunting. He enjoyed hunting with his grandfather, "Tom" Lamb, who nurtured his hunting skills. Many great stories were told of experiences while hunting with Grandpa. He also enjoyed hunting with Dan Maciag and his boys. He bought a piece of land near Oneida Lake and he and the Maciag boys turned it into a nice place to hunt deer. He also enjoyed hunting on his great Uncle Keith's land in Eaton, NY. He is survived by his fiance' Missie Damuth. His children, Bridgette & Dylan Ponto of Canastota, Brittanie & Jay Tournear of Lebanon, NY , Kaylee & Tom VanLuvanee of Oneida NY, Alexes and her fiancé Devin Clemens of Oneida NY. He is also survived by his siblings; Devra and Dennis Carr of Middleburg, Pa., Juli and Rick Naegele Jr. of St. Marys, Ohio, Amy and John Little of Canastota, NY, Kerri and Sean Hoffman of Katy Texas, David and Katie Lamb of San Antonio, Texas Kevin Lamb of Oneida, NY. He is also survived by his step sons Dawson Damuth of Oriskany Falls, NY and Dillon Damuth of Alexandria, Va. He is survived by his father and step mother Blake and Margaret Lamb of Sherrill, NY and his mother "Honey" Sexton of Sherrill, NY. He leaves behind his "grandboys"; Devyn, Logan, Colton, Camren, Brody, Dominick and Devin Jr. who he loved very much and enjoyed spending time together. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and great aunts and uncles. He was pre-deceased by his grandparents; Alan "Tom" and Lee Lamb, Jerry and Julia Cutway, and Stanley and Lucy Pawlikowski. In keeping with Blake's wishes all services will be private at this time. There will be a celebration of his life to be announced in the spring or early summer when the weather and COVID provide the opportunity to gather.
