Obituary of Nancy L. Drake

Nancy L. Drake Sherrill- Nancy L. Drake, age 74, of W. Hamilton Ave. passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning March 5, 2015 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with her son at her side. She was born on May 12, 1940 in Oneida, New York a daughter of the late Ray and Mary Ano and was a graduate of V.V.S. Central School. On June 19, 1959 Nancy and John F "Jack" Drake were united in marriage in Christ Church United Methodist of Sherrill and the couple shared a loving union of over fifty-four years together until Jack's death on June 27, 2013. In her spare time Nancy enjoyed painting, bird watching, enjoying nature, attending estate sales and garage sales with her friends. Nancy attended Plymouth Alliance Church where she made many good friends and nurtured her religious beliefs. Surviving are one son, John Michael (Bonnie) Drake of Sandy, OR, one daughter Barbara Burnett of Edgewater, Fl., and three special grandchildren, Raquel, Bethany, Kevin and two lifelong friends, Dianna Lindsey and Midge Rudolf as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Nancy was predeceased by her husband John "Jack" Drake and her brother Jack Ano. Nancy was much appreciative of care from local paramedics and fire and police departments. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.at at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at time to be announced. Burial will be at a later date in Stockbridge Valley Cemetery, Stockbridge, New York.
