Obituary of James R. Houck

Sherrill-James R. Houck, age 30, of Sherrill passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning January 10, 2021. He was born on September 20, 1990 in Oneida, New York a son of Steven M. and Wanda (Ely) Houck and was a graduate of Vernon Verona Sherrill Central Schools. In 2013 James enlisted with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 2015. James was a nature lover who enjoyed hiking and fishing especially with his daughter and watching football. He had various jobs and was more recently employed with Ferris Industries of Sherrill. Surviving are his parents, Steve and Wanda Houck of Sherrill, his beloved daughter Willow Houck, two brothers, Tyler and Jason Houck, his girlfriend, Rachel Dwyer, two dear friends; Kevin and Stevie, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY where CDC requirements of face coverings and social distancing will be observed.
