Obituary of Dustin J. Gracey

Dustin James Gracey, age 35 of Vernon passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his home. He was born on February 5th, 1986 in Oneonta, New York a son of James H. and Laurel (Hadden) Gracey and attended Vernon Verona Sherrill School. Dustin had a love for cooking and loved his job at the Black Stallion where he last worked at the restaurant in Vernon. He liked to show off his chef skills and was an amazing cook. Previously he worked at the Mason Jar in Vernon, the Nothin' Fancy in Vernon. One of his greatest loves was his cat Steve French (pre-deceased) and his cats Mister and Cheetah, who were his current companions. Dustin also had a love of music, and could also bang out a tune on his guitar. His preferred genres were Rock and Metal. Survived by his parents, James H. and Laurel J. (Hadden) Gracey, his brothers, Dean M Gracey and Derek A Gracey, his uncles and aunts Michael and Kathy Gracey of Delhi, NY, Harry and Kerri Gracey of Delhi NY, Ronald and Lisa Hadden of Sidney NY, and Colleen Marie Schultz of Pennsylvania, and many cousins. Special Mention to Garry Abrams Jr, his friend since childhood, Tisha and Zach Reader for always being supportive and being friends to him, and many others. Pre-deceased by his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents Due to COVID restrictions there will be no public funeral services at this time. The family will gather privately.
