Obituary of Mayola W. Warner

Oneida - Mayola W. Warner, age 91, of Sholtz Road passed away early Monday morning June 28, 2021 in the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility after a brief stay. She was born on May 4, 1930 in Oneida, New York a daughter of the late John and Millicent (Stukey) Williams and was a graduate of the Stockbridge Valley Schools. On July 25, 1948 Mayola and W. Garth Warner were united in marriage in Churchville, New York and have shared that loving vow of over seventy-two years together. Mayola along with her husband were blessed to be life-long members of the Verona Seventh Day Baptist Church. In loving and serving Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she also loved and treasured her family. Mayola was a gifted musician who gave many people private piano lessons from her home. Mayola and Garth founded and led ‘The Power Company’ – a Christian music group for teenagers – for over twenty years. She was a well known organist at many local churches in Canastota, Chittenango, at the Oneida Presbyterian Church and at the Plymouth Alliance Church. They also were blessed to travel all over the world and be all the states except Alaska. They enjoyed participating in other local organizations such as the Gideon Society. Surviving are her husband, W. Garth Warner of Oneida, three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark (Norma) Warner of Westmoreland, Kevin (Julie) Warner of Marshall, VA and James (Sharon) Warner of Gilbert, AZ, one daughter, Wendy Warner Park of Virginia Beach, VA, her beloved grandchildren, Emily Davis, Melissa Larish, Jessica Miller, Jonas Park, Jackson Park, Laurel Warner, Olivia Warner, Gabriel Warner, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday July 2, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Verona Seventh Day Baptist Church, 6775 Blackman’s Corner Rd. Verona, NY. A funeral service will be held at the church at 2:00 p.m. immediately following the calling hours. Burial will then follow in New Union Cemetery, Churchville, NY.
