Obituary of Gloria M DePugh

Vernon Center-Gloria M. DePugh, age 88 passed away peacefully Friday morning August 6, 2021 in the Grand Nursing Center of Utica with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 13, 1932 in Oneida, New York a daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys (Wagner) Hubbard and attended the Oneida Schools. On July 5, 1952 Gloria was united in marriage to Johnnie V. DePugh and shared that vow of over thirty-three years together until his death on December 26, 1985. Gloria was employed for some time with the Oneida Limited Silversmiths but spent most of her working career as a home health aide, a job she enjoyed. She had a great love for her church and was a Sunday school teacher for over twenty years with the Vernon Baptist Church and the Beacon Light Baptist Church and was more recently a member of the Durhamville Baptist Church. Her biggest joys in life came from her times spent with her family at gatherings playing board games and cards especially pitch. Surviving are her daughter Donna (Tom) Brown of Vernon Center, son John (Jayne) DePugh of Newark, NY and daughter Susan (Bob) Sterle of Oneida, her nine beloved grandchildren, Paul (Danielle), TJ (Beth), Rosie (Roger), Annamarie (Brian), Joshua (Bekah), Julie (Travis), Katherine and Joseph, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Shirley (George) Thurston and one brother, Clinton (Linda) Hubbard and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by her, husband John V. DePugh, granddaughter Jessie DePugh, eight siblings, Philip Hubbard, Arthur Hubbard, Josephine Konowich (John), Beverly Cowan (Don), Ruth Edick (George), Carol Eaton (Les) and June Merlin (Shorty). Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 form 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Gloria's son Rev. John DePugh officiating. Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery, Churchville, NY.
