Obituary of Marianne (Booth) Eaton

Vernon Center-Marianne Booth Eaton, age 69, went peacefully into Heaven on October 31, 2021, in the comfort of her daughter's home, surrounded by her family's love and devotion; following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Marianne was born October 16, 1952, in Oneida NY, the daughter of Floyd and Dorothy (Lecker) Booth. She graduated Vernon-Verona-Sherrill in 1970. On October 17, 1970, Marianne married Thomas K. Eaton at St. Catherine's Church, Vernon. They recently celebrated fifty-one years together. Prior to her illness, Marianne was employed as a medical coder with Dr. Robert Burdick in Sherrill. Marianne enjoyed scrapbooking and time spent with her family. As a proud and faithful catholic, she served as a communicant for Holy Family Church, Vernon and as a member of Court Our Lady #1250, a local chapter of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She served on the New York State Board of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas from 2011 to 2017, holding the offices of Secretary, 2nd Vice Regent and 1st Vice Regent, during her tenure. Surviving is her husband, Thomas K. Eaton of Vernon Center; her mother, Dorothy Booth of Vernon; three children and their spouses, Jennifer (Derrick) Sharkey of Vernon, Tristum (Jessica) Eaton of Hilton, Megan (James) Gervasi of Williamsville; four beloved grandchildren, Thomas & David Gervasi, Cora & Simon Eaton; her brother, Louis (Rosalie) Leggett of Oneida; her cherished dog, Sophie; and many other beloved relatives and friends. Marianne was predeceased by her father, Floyd Booth and brothers, William, Edward and David Booth. Family and friends are invited to call on the Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church Peterboro Street, Vernon, NY.
