Obituary of Clark D. Mollenhauer

Verona-Clark D. Mollenhauer, age 90, of Eastwood Drive passed away peacefully Thursday morning December 23, 2021 in the comfort of his home with 3 of his children at his side. He was born on November 18, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York a son of the late Crosby J. and Natalie A. (Ballou) Mollenhauer and was a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School, BS in physics from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute, and MS from Syracuse University. On June 5, 1953 Clark enlisted with the United States Navy and served as an officer on the USS Bache and was honorably discharged on May 29, 1956. On August 9, 1958 Clark and Madeleine Fongemie were united in marriage in St. Francis Church of New Britain Ct. and shared that sacred vow of over sixty years together until her death on February 1, 2019. In his early professional career Clark taught physics at Syracuse University before pursuing his career in engineering at Griffiss Air Force Base of which he retired. After retirement Clark liked to keep busy and ran his own computer business. He also enjoyed working outside in his yard. He was a very long and devoted member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of Verona where he volunteered his time and served on various committees and as a lector in the Church. He also enjoyed being active with Holy Cross Academy where he would tutors students. His greatest joys in life came from his family whom he was extremely proud of. Surviving are his six children, John, Carol, Rev. Arthur, Marie, Susanne and Charles, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday December 29, 2021 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY where per state regulations face mask will be required. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, E. Main Street Verona, with Rev. Edmund Castronovo and Clark's son, Rev. Arthur Mollenhauer celebrants. Burial with military honors will follow in Verona Cemetery, Verona, NY. Family and friends will gather at Holy Cross Academy following the burial for a meal.
