Obituary of John B. Isabelle

Oneida-John B. Isabelle IV, age 80, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. He was born on February 25, 1941 in Princeton, MA and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School, Holden, MA. He went on to graduate from Salem College, Salem, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Youth Agency Administration. He is survived by Janet, his wife of fifty-nine years, two daughters, Leanne (Michael) Ziemba of N. Syracuse, Michele (Gordon) Anderson of E. Syracuse, daughter-in-law, Carrie Isabelle of Atlanta, six grandchildren, Danielle and Nicole Ziemba, Ashley Ratliff, Sean Anderson, Kaitlin and Jayson Isabelle. He was predeceased by a son, Jay Isabelle in 2017. For seven years John was employed as the District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, then had his own home building and remodeling business Freedom's Choice Enterprises for over twenty years. He was a member of the Cochran Memorial Presbyterian Church, Oneida Rifle Club, Experimental Aircraft Association, and Wooden Canoe Heritage Association. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Food Bank of CNY, 7066 Interstate Island Rd., Syracuse, NY, 13209 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at Stjude.org/donate. A Celebration of John's Life will be held at Cochran Memorial Presbyterian Church, Oneida Castle on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. following CDC guidelines, mask will be expected. Burial will be in at a later date in Oneida Castle Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Sherrill.
