Obituary of Deborah G. Martin

Vernon-Deborah G. Martin, age 70, of State Rt. 26 passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 while caring for the animals that she loved. She was born on June 10, 1951 in Syracuse, New York a daughter of the late Donald and Joan (Boyle) Gronau and received her Associate's Degree in Animal Science from SUNY Cobleskill. Deborah loved all animals especially horses and dogs and in 1976 was crowned Empire Queen of the Appaloosa Club. She enjoyed giving dog obedience classes at the Sherrill CAC and was instrumental in training puppies for the Guiding Eyes Association for the Blind. Surviving are her two children, James Martin of Pine Bush, NY and Ellen Martin of Delaware, NJ, three sisters, Cynthia Boyle of Jersey City, NJ, Maureen Gronau of Oran, NY, and Lorraine Gronau of Vernon, one niece Mary Crandall of Oran, special friends who helped Deborah in many ways, Mary and Ron Hall, James Clinch, Carol Gilbert and Ralph Archer and too many more friends to mention. In keeping with the family's wishes there will be a gathering later in June around Deborah's birthday to celebrate her life. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon.
