Obituary of Mildred M. Boyer

Whitesboro-Mildred M. Boyer, age 86, formerly of Ashwood Ave. and more recently of The Pines at Utica Nursing Facility passed away early Tuesday morning May 24, 2022 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.

She was born on July 3, 1935 in Vernon, New York a daughter of the late C. Seth and Lois F. (Sturdevant) Lyon. Mildred was a graduate of the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School and Crouse Irving School of Nursing where she received a degree as a registered nurse.

Prior to her retirement with Marcy Psychiatric Center Mildred was employed as a registered nurse for over thirty-five years.

Mildred was a former member of the Vernon Center United Methodist Church and Whitesboro Methodist Church. In her spare enjoyed watching sports of any kind especially NY Yankee Baseball, NASCAR and enjoyed listening to country music.

Surviving are her two daughters, Deanna Grant of Whitesboro and Donna (George) White of New Hartford, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, one sister Mary Lyon of Sherrill, two sisters-in-law, Linda Lyon of Sherrill and Judy Lyon Harshman of Indiana, several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nephews and great-nieces, also surviving are Harold Bryant and William Bryant of Stockbridge.

Mildred was predeceased by her two brothers, Howard Lyon and Morris Lyon.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the 4th floor staff at the Pines Nursing Facility for their kind support of Mildred during her stay at the facility.

Calling hours will be private and at the family's convenience. A graveside service will be held Saturday June 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Skinner Cemetery, Lyon Rd. Vernon Center, NY. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon. Online condolences may be sent t maleckifuneralhome.com
