Donna E. Kowanes SHERRILL >> Donna E. Kowanes, age 72, of the Mansion House passed away Saturday morning June 6, 2015 in University Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on Jan. 12, 1943 in Syracuse, N.Y. a daughter of the late Hollister and Herbietta Mae (Simpkins) Roundy and was a graduate of P.D. Moore School of Central Square. Donna retired from Oneida Limited Silversmith as a machine operator at the knife plant and was still employed at the Mansion House where she worked for 22 years. She was member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 230 of Sherrill and enjoyed fishing with her grandchildren. Surviving are her son, Tony M. Kowanes and Jenny T. Reals of Oneida; three grandsons, Anthony M. Kowanes, Taylor Denison Kowanes and Richard Denison Kowanes; one sister, Eileen (John) Campbell of Constantia; one brother, Herbert (Susan) Roundy of Texas; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Anna) Kowanes of Camden and Fred (Judy) Kowanes of Constantia and several nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her daughter, Tammy Kowanes. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 3-5 p.m. in The Grand Room at the Mansion House, 170 Kenwood Ave., Oneida, N.Y.
