Obituary of Mildred E. Miller

Vernon-Mildred E. “Millie” Miller, age 98, of Copper Street passed away Friday morning December 16, 2022 in the Oneida Healthcare Center after a short illness.

  She was born on October 3, 1924 in Floyd, New York a daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Boss) Conover. She attended Holland Patent schools.

  On January 20, 1947 Mildred and Orville O. Miller were united in marriage in Paintsville, KY and shared that loving union of over sixty-five years together until Orville’s death on February 25, 2012.

  Millie was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, attending the dirt track car races, good meals and a couple adult beverages. Her most precious times were spent with her family that she adored.

  Surviving are her half -brother Beryl “Tom” (Isabelle) Campbell of Vernon and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

  Millie was predeceased by her parents, husband and her siblings, Elizabeth (Conover) Sprague, Irene (Conover) Still, Kenneth Conover, Frederick Conover, Robert Conover, Virginia (Conover) Davis, Leroy Conover, Marshall “Moe” Conover and several step-sisters and step-brothers.

  In keeping with Mildred’s wishes the family will gather privately at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Rt. 5 Vernon, NY to bury Mildred next to her husband Orville. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
