Vernon-Kenneth F. Murphy passed away at 84 years of age on January 6, 2024 at the Wynn Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born on September 28, 1939 in Vernon, New York a son of Charles Murphy and Jane Nazel Murphy.

Ken retired from the New York State Department of Transportation after thirty-four years of service. He then went to work for Empire Livestock Associates and after twenty-five years of service retired. He rodeoed in his younger years as a calf roper. There was never a time in his life that he didn't own a horse.

He is survived by his wife Sandra (Krawiec) Murphy, son Timothy Murphy (Brenda), daughter Rebecca Stewart, stepsons, Jeffrey Langford (Brenda), Joseph Langford (Joann), grandchildren, Justin Langford, Gage Baker, Ryan Langford, Rachel Langford, Alyssa Stewart and Lauren Borst (Robert), great-grandchildren, Liam Miller McNabb, Madelyn Langford, Benjamin Borst, sister-in-law Jane Kitchen (Frank), brother-in-law, Edward Krawiec (Fanny) and several nieces and nephews.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Fred Murphy and Danny Murphy and sister, Ellen Murphy.

In keeping with the family wishes calling hours will be private. Friends may attend the graveside service and burial on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery, Rt. 5, Vernon, NY. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon.
