Floyd-Edward F. Seelman, age 81, of Watson Hollow Road passed away peacefully early Monday morning, January 29, 2024 in Wynn Hospital with his grandson Richard at his side. He was born on May 29, 1942 in Floyd, New York a son of the late Howard and Katherine Seelman and attended the Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools. On August 18, 1974 Edward and Joan Hatch were united in marriage in Vernon Center, New York and shared that loving union until Joan's death on June 15, 2006. In his early career Edward was a pewter smith and later went on to work for various local grocery stores and retired from Loblaws Grocery Store of Rome. In his spare times he enjoyed being an outdoorsman, hunting and fishing. He most enjoyed his times spent with his family. Surviving is his son in law Rich Slaga, daughter in law Carm Seelman, grandchildren, Richard (Jessica) Sommers, Michael Seelman Jr, Dayna Seelman, Patrick Slaga and Rachel Seelman, 11 greatgrandchildren, four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Agnes L. (Thomas) Goodridge of Vernon, Carolyn A. (Reginald) Kemp of Bellevue, Wash., Loretta L. (Henry) Badgley of Vernon and Darlene Seelman of Vernon, sister-in-law, Lou Ann Seelman of Vernon and many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Hatch) Seelman, daughter, Laurie Slaga, sons Michael Seelman Sr, Steve Seelman, and two brothers, Harley Seelman and Roy Seelman. In keeping with Edwards wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
