Obituary of Francine M. Stadtmiller

 Francine Marie (Mullen) Stadtmiller, 77, of Oneida Castle passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Crouse Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on April 12, 1947 in Oneida, NY, a daughter of the late Francis and Edith (Grisenthwaite) Mullen. Francine grew up in Sherrill, NY and graduated from Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central Schools in 1965. She then attended CCBI business school in Syracuse, NY

Francine married D. Joseph Stadtmiller Jr. in 1975 and together they moved to Verona, NY to raise their three children Jess, Joey and Jon. Over the years Francine was employed by Oneida Limited and Nelson's Cottage of Flowers in Sherrill, NY.

Francine was a devoted mother and dedicated volunteer whose tireless work benefited children and families throughout the region, including her work with VVS Little League and VVS Music Boosters. She was never happier than when she had a houseful of kids hanging out around the house, or playing baseball and football in the backyard. She was an avid sports fan, who never tired of watching Syracuse Orange football and basketball on TV. She enjoyed being creative, whether it was taking photos or planting flowers in her garden. She loved being outdoors, birdwatching (especially owls), gazing up at the moon and stars, and always felt the most at peace when she was near the water.

She is survived by her daughter Jessica (Jeff) Harrington, Oneida, Joseph (Sarah) Stadtmiller Framingham, MA, Jonathan (Sara Flynn) Stadtmiller, Waltham, MA, grandchildren Hannah and Brennan Stadtmiller, sister Shirley (Edward) Trost, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband D. Joseph Stadtmiller Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Friday May 17th, at Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill, NY from 3:00 to 5:30 pm with a service directly to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Clear Path for Veterans 1223 Salt Springs Road Chittenango, NY 13037.
