Sherrill-Oneida-Robert Adelbert Haehl, age 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the Oneida Health Hospital.

  He was born on November 27, 1934 in Rochester, New York the only son of Valentin and Barbara (Krenzer) Haehl.

  Bob was a U.S. Air Force veteran enlisting in 1954 and honorably discharged in 1957.

  He was predeceased by his bride of sixty- six years, Barbara Jean (Hoadley) Haehl in 2021.

  Bob shared his love for precision marching with his children and was instrumental in the formation of the Rochester Reveliers Drum and Bugle Corps. The family spent years with various drum corps organizations, including the Bishop Kearney Marching Kings Band.

  Bob founded Haehl Industrial Machinery, Inc. and received numerous recognitions from the National Tool and Die Association and SME Society of Manufacturing Engineers throughout his career.

In his spare time, he loved spending time with family and friends, but especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom adored him. Bob also enjoyed reading, camping and cooking.

 Surviving are his children and their spouses, Kathleen (George) Karpus, Robert II (Ellen) Haehl, Barbara "Kim" (Doug) Kuszlyk, Gregory (Nora) Haehl, Donald (Deborah) Haehl, and Patricia (Andrew) Pennise, his eighteen grandchildren, Karin (Joseph) Anello, Katie (Christopher) McCormick, William "Billy" Popham, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Valentine, Elizabeth Temple, Matthew Cafer, Dianna Kuszlyk, Nicholas Kuszlyk, Monica (Steve) Kean, Catherine (Mack Flaherty) Haehl, Gregory Haehl II, Jonathan Haehl, Alexandria Haehl, Alana Haehl, Patrick (Kristina Brant) Pennise, Sarah Pennise, Matthew Pennise, and Thomas Pennise, his ten great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jackson, Mason, Clara, Meredith, Allison, Cameron, Simon, Raymond and Oliver, and one sister Mary Jo Harzmann, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of Bob’s life at a mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Sprit of Hope St. Helena’s Church, 204 Primo Ave., Sherrill, NY.
