Sauquoit-Ole A. Pettersen, age 73, of Roberts Road passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon, July 8, 2024 after being stricken ill at his home and shortly after his admission into Wynn Hospital.

He was born on May 2, 1951 in Tromso, Norway, a son of the late Magne and Marit (Lydersen) Pettersen and received his primary education in Norway. He went on to serve six years with the Norwegian Navy where he became a licensed Marine Diesel Engineer.

On October 3, 1980 Ole and Laurel B. Robinson were united in marriage in Lillesand, Norway and have shared this loving vow of over forty-three years together.

Ole also earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Hamilton College. He went on to serve as an addiction counselor and became the owner and Director of the Center for Addiction Recovery in Clinton, New York.

He helped others in any way he could. In his spare time, he was a beekeeper and was his daughter Shakira’s roller derby coach and biggest cheerleader. First and foremost he loved the Lord, his family, his church, people and was a man of deep faith.

Surviving to mourn his leaving are his beloved wife, Laurel B. Pettersen of Sauquoit, his adored children Lena, Joakim, Zachary, Robert and Shakira, their spouses, and several grandchildren. Ole also leaves other beloved family and friends in America and in Norway.
